Counterpedia Check

Bring an answer. Check what its sources actually establish.

Counterpedia keeps the imported answer separate from its findings, checks one statement at a time, and leaves every unevaluated dimension visible.

Check an answer

Bring the answer you already have.

Paste an answer from an AI assistant, memo, brief, article, or other source. Counterpedia turns it into an editable R0 statement list so you can check one proposition at a time against the source it relies on.

Private import: preparing R0 happens in this browser. The pasted answer is not sent merely by importing it. When you choose Continue to Check, only that statement and the source URL you supplied are handed to the Check form through temporary storage in this browser tab, once; they are not placed in the page address. The Check itself still requires an explicit run.

  1. TryCheck

    Bring an answer or source

Start with the ordinary Check front door; no result is created by opening this route.

  2. InspectCheck

    Inspect the retained xz specimen

See a real mechanical Check beside its governed receipts and independent verification reports.

  3. MachineHistory

    Open retained Check History

Attempt A, Attempt B, and the explicit RECHECK relation remain separate machine-readable records.

  4. ContinueCounterforum

    Continue into challenge and revision

The forum is a place for challenge and research; it does not silently change Counterpedia standing.

Direct source check

Already know the source you want to inspect?

Skip R0 and run the existing governed source Check directly.

Live checks aren’t enabled on this public site yet.

You can inspect a real completed Check now — including the source, the retained bytes, what was established, what wasn’t, and the receipt you can verify independently.

Have a durable private Check result?

Open an already-admitted private CheckRecordProjection with its custody reference and separate retrieval key. Current URL Checks remain transient unless a producer has the full canonical record basis.

Every finding is dimension-local

A Check receipt does not roll its findings up into one number. It reports a separate result for each dimension it actually looked at — for example, whether a citation resolves, whether the source was captured, whether a quote matches the captured bytes, whether the source is still current, and whether the source actually supports the proposition it is cited for. Which dimensions appear depends on what that particular check evaluated; nothing on this page requires every dimension to be present, and a receipt that only evaluated one dimension is not a defective or partial receipt — it is an honest record of exactly what was checked.

established

This dimension was checked and the evidence supports it, with a specific basis a reader can follow.

not established

This dimension was checked and the evidence does not support it. A reason code says why, so this reads as a specific finding, not a vague failure.

not evaluated

This dimension was not checked at all — there is no finding either way. Not evaluated is a first-class outcome, not a lesser or hidden one: an honest Check receipt says so out loud with a reason code, rather than staying silent about what it left untouched.

Dimensions seen in the published specimen below: citation_resolution, source_capture, quote_integrity, currentness, proposition_support.

What Check does not claim

  • Check does not emit an aggregate truth score, an aggregate trust score, a confidence percentage, or an overall pass/fail grade. Every finding stays local to the dimension it was measured on; there is no single number this page, or any Check receipt, will show you.
  • That a source was located and captured does not, by itself, establish that the source supports any particular proposition it is cited for. Source presence and proposition support are separate dimensions, and a receipt can show the former as established while the latter is not evaluated.
  • A receipt records evidence as retained at a specific past time — the bytes a capture pinned down — not a live, freshly-taken observation of the source at the moment you read the receipt. If a page has since changed, moved, or disappeared, the receipt still describes the retained bytes it was built from, and says so; it does not silently re-check the source for you.

Check specimens are published from retained evidence. The xz specimen additionally shows how a governed DAGR receipt pair and independent ARCS Verify reports remain separate from the mechanical Check.
